Create a project

Give a piece of client work a home before or after a commercial agreement.

Reviewed

  1. Open Projects, or open a client home’s Projects section.
  2. Choose New project.
  3. Select the client and enter a Project title.
  4. Optionally choose a Project owner, set a Planned project due date, and add a Project working brief.
  5. Choose Save project to open the new project home.

You can start with just a client and title. A manual project does not require a proposal and does not create an accepted agreement.

  • Overview: counts, attention items, recent files and activity.
  • Work: separate lists of supporting tasks and deliverables, including deliverables that have not started. Deliverable rows show status, owner, date and the latest version when one exists. Use More deliverables for another page.
  • Brief: the working brief and, when present, a link to agreed scope.
  • Files & versions: the latest saved version for each deliverable, with access to its version history.
  • Activity: project, task, file and review changes you can access.

Choose Edit project to update operational details. Choose New task to begin a task already linked to this project and client.

Projects created through the existing accepted-scope workflow keep their agreement and scope records. Editing the working brief, owner or planned date does not rewrite frozen commercial terms or approve a deliverable.

Use View agreed scope and delivery from Brief when you need the agreed details. A planned deadline and an agreed deadline have different meanings.

In Edit project, set Project visibility to Archived and save. The project leaves active work queues, while its files and history remain available. Find it using the directory’s Archived projects filter, then edit visibility back to Active to restore it.

Create North Pier autumn launch while you gather ideas. Add tasks and a working brief. The project can organize preparation without pretending that the client has accepted commercial terms.

An existing project cannot be moved to another client in this editor. The Work section opens the existing delivery workspace for deliverable editing and review. Archives keep history; archiving is not deletion. For interrupted edits, read Saving and conflicts.
